the inner weight is 28mm long and 6mm diameter.the bore it runs in is 6.2 mm.with a thread of m7  0.75.

Looks very nice Kev. Are they easy to setup, say if I wanted to drop power one night for barn shooting, can I decrease the hammer as normal without messing with your double tap.. Or do they need setting up?

yes you can just adjust rear hammer plug as normal lee m8.

Well I think your Rabid Fox is stalking me Over on this side of the Pond!
After you posted your Photo of your internals of your Double Tap Inertia weight design...
I can't get it out of my  mind!!!
I think about in the shower, when I eat.. I even dream about it!!

I had to do my own, using  some exotic metal!
So I ordered up some Tungsten!
So the front striker and the internal weight are made out of Tungsten.
This stuff is Dense and little Hard....
Threading it on my little lathe was fun!!


The last piece I have to turn, is a new spring guide...
I can't wait to see how the test turns out on this one!!

Hey Kev,
Well here is the finished setup my version of your Fantastic Double Tap Inertia Weight!

I reduce the tail of the Brass body.. to allow the use of a spring guide...
I also cut machined a small boss on the rear of the Front Striker piece,  to help with the alignment of the spring for the inner weight.

So to kick this off.... I also did a little video comparison..

I drop a hammer from about 3 ft, on to a aluminum plate on the concrete floor of my mini shop.
I compared:
1. Only the Hammmer
2. Hammer with Theoben's Inertia weight and spring
3. Hammer with my Double Tap Inertia weight without the internal weight.
4. Hammer with the Complete Double Tap Inertia Weight...

A real Eye Opener!!
I know this isn't the exact operating conditions the hammer deals with... But I don't have a spare Rapid block to mill a window into!!

Pardon my ignorance here but. I'm not understanding the function of a double tap. Can someone please explain what's going on here. Lots of great looking parts , just not getting what I'm looking at here. Is it like the slingshot hammer in a Daystate?

It all about eliminating Hammer-Bounce....
Hammer-bounce wastes air and affect efficiency..
