Hi Fellow Rapid owners....
Well If anyone here knows what is the Hottest new Tech for your Rapid....
The KevG's New Double Tap Inertia Weight Mod!!

I did do a small change to KevG's design on the one I made. I used Tungsten for key components in mine.
The Front striking head and the internal stiker. This give my design a little more mass to dampen the hammer bounce!

Btw. all test were done with the anti-rattle spring installed to the front of the Inertia Weight.

Here is my version of KevG's Double Tap Inertia Weight, middle left is the Standard weight from Theoben.


So I don't have the Luxury of Chip or Swift... to have a Rapid block laying around to mill a slot in to watch the Hammer Bounce.
So my test is to drop the hammer, down a clear vinyl tube about 3 ft above the ground. On to a aluminum strip.
The results were quite amazing! (end of this post, videos that are apple friendly!)

1. Hammer without a inertia weight.


2. Hammer with the Standard Theoben inertia Weight.... net wt. 7.1 gms. (btw. the weight was inserted into the hammer! Impact made it jump out!)


3. Hammer with Double Tap.. without the internal weight! net wt. 14.71 gms.


4. Hammer with Full Double Tap!! WOW!!!!!! The net wt. 27.54 gms.


This was very Eye opening!!!
My Double Tap Inertia weight Design uses Tungsten for the strike piece and the Internal Weight!!
This adds more weight to my design since it so Dense!!!

Don't Forget to Hit the Fullscreen button on the Bottom right of the Video Window!!!!

Wow that's some difference...are you taking orders to ship this side of the pond

I've got an old block milled out Stuart.ready to do test just got to sort a camera out.be interesting to see when every thing is under tension.and valve under pressure.i think it can also be read from the muzzle with something like a pulse meter.not clued up on that side of things.just know they work.just need some iridium now.

Strange, They all play on my iPad Pro...latest ios....
I don't get the video preview like on my PC..
But there is a grey circle with an arrow in it.
I can tap on this grey arrow, video window pops up!!

Chip used a Casio digital camera that had a Super Slow Motion setting..
I was thinking of setting up a shock sensor. I can get a waveform on my digital storage oscilloscope !!

So I just did a playback test on my old iPad Air2.
No problems, I could play all of them back....
So I was checking the settings.
Make sure in the config area, check under> Safari>Advanced, that Javascrpt is enabled!

What are the differences and benefits of this set up against an SSG set up?

not had alot to do with the ssg but the guns I've had here with them fitted always seem harder to cock.also some of them could give around 20 fps difference from shooting up hill to down hill(tryed different angles)harder to set up to..though there are plenty of people who are happy with the ssg.
