What makes a MFR a MFR?

Now I know this may seem like an obvious question, with a typical answer of "the reg and the shroud", and I wouldn't disagree as I personally think the MFR in standard form is very hard to beat in both performance and looks.

So, if someone loses the shroud and puts a normal barrel on, is it still MFR?  If someone puts a bigger bottle on, but the same reg, is it still MFR?

Probably doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but interested in thoughts.

The ability to remove the bottle without bleeding air off is a key feature of an MFR in my opinion.

I would say the stock - as it covers part of the 50mm buddy bottle. But again the full length shroud and non burp regulator all come together to make the MFR 👍

As both have said above ,but you could also order a MFR without a shroud and with screw cut barrel ,i have MFR'd all my rapids as the non burping makes life so much easier .

I think the standard MFR with the shroud and slim lines of the stock is one good looking gun. I know guys take the shroud off or even replace it and that includes myself.

So the MFR for me is the reg and bottle set up with no burping the bottle off and the standard MFR stock.

Interesting....so basically it boils down to the reg.

I personally can't lose that shroud.....just like the standard look too much

For me it's only an MFR if it's the same as it was when it left the factory

Don't forget the "posh" MFR the TTR1/2 both in my opinion one of the best looking air rifles ever made .
