FAC Rapid Blocks

It is my understanding () that some Constabularies will take a fac air gun off ticket if, is this the case?

If so does anyone know who the amenable ones are?

unfortunately once on ticket always on ticket and if your constabulary was amenable to taking one off.. it would have to be done by an RFD, anti-tamper ect.

Chit- chat on the subject is 99% no but apparently Norfolk.
I assume that the gun would have to be registered in Norfolk not just sent to sent to a Norfolk RFD and returned to a different licencing authority area.

As far as i`m aware of its the block that you need to change to remove it from fac,  As the block is the holder of the serial code that they hold on the main computer,

The way around this is to find a gun shop that is willing to exchange the block from your rapid and swop it for a none fac block,...If you can manage to do this he would then own the fac rapid and you would have exchanged the block with a none fac rapid,


Of course there would be some paperwork involved, and some cash changing hands, I did this once but it was 20 or so years ago.

Have you tried getting hold of a block? It took me 3 weeks and some strong words dealing with the bell end at impact to get hold of a gsx block, so apologies if you can get them off ticket at a reasonable price it would be

If this is not done through a RFD then the police then start to question what happened to the rest of the gun,....If possible it`s best to go through this process with a gun RFD that you know or trust,...or even better sell the gun and buy a none fac rapid and move on,

Was actually asking on behalf of an rfd who has 4 fac blocks, if he can get them off ticket he can make a few quid

Are they early or mk2? Are they gutted? I'd say he could still do ok out of them anyway if hes already sold off the rest of them he will have bought them for a steal anyway I would think

1x mk2 the others are mk1, they re all gutted but from fac, hence the question, think if they were off ticket he could readily sell them on

May be worth him phoning licensing dept and asking? I'm in the market for a mk2 scalloped fac when I've sold some of my other fac stuff on

Once it`s on the ticket,...it stays on the ticket,...unless you can find a RFD to swop the block,  So tbh there is no point phoning licensing dept cos the computer says NO.

Tbh the police don`t like removing fac gun`s off the ticket & it would become quite a process to do that,...so i would say no,..." not a easy option to go through"

And the best part of this is wait until he want`s to get rid of the QUOTE - as the police see it FAC Blocks,.-" lots of paper work!" and that they don`t like!

There wouldn't be any paper work or bother in phoning to ask if they can or cannot be altered to non fac I'd say it could be as simple as a yes or no I have heard it is possible my self but is a little complicated but I've never investigated this for my self I may just go and see my rfd and ask he is very knowledgable on most things firearm (as he well should be) it's what the department are there for after all! not just to say no and make you believe anything they tell you is the law there could be some sort of legislation around it? After all the only silly question is the one not asked....

I rang the fao for my area in Kent to ask him the same as there was a really nice .20 fac for sale,   really helpful bloke but his answer was once registered fac it stays registered and cannot be removed unless the block is handed in and destroyed
