i have not long bought my first rapid 7,the lad i bought it off said it had sat in a cupboard for years, after a few times of taking it out with no problem, and being impressed with it,it has now started (not all the time) dumping air,i wounder if anyone could tell me what might be wrong with it,and the best person to take a look at it and hopfully fix it,many thank, mike.

Could explain your "dumping air" problem??
Is dumping through the barrel? or through one of the junctions??
If through the barrel it can be a Bent Valve-stem...
Through on of the junction... a dried O-ring....

As above. Is it gradually losing pressure, or suddenly releasing all the air?

wollyhatman

when it dumps the air its all at once, seems to lose it from the bottle i think

Ca_Varminter

So when does it dumps air??
When you are attaching the bottle , bottle sitting on the gun, or shooting
And is the air blowing out the Barrel????

its when out shooting, dont do it all the time, you can get about 30 shoots off or so,then it spits it out, other times it just dont do it,im gutted, always been a hw100 man,but really like this gun.

Ca_Varminter

It sounds like a Main valve-stem/body issue..
Why don't you drop an email Directly to KevG...

You've probably got a bent valve stem that's sticking open when your bottle pressure drops a bit.
Not expensive, but you'll need to know how to change it out.

I always buy valve body & stem as a pair, Dr Bob or KevG NOT ebay  ;)  simple to change, it's behind the plug between barrel & bottle.
Silly people fitting monster springs thinking they will get more power is the usual cause.

PS. If not used for years it may just be knackered O-rings on the stem & probably wants new seals all round

I would service it for you, but getting it to me is the only obstacle.
