Barrel Crown

Hi fellas is there anyone here that can have a look at my barrel getting a real few flyers
then it will shoot ok then off again i think it may need Crowning i don't think its the silencer Any help please ATB Phil.

Well the Crown of the Barrel... of any type of gun....
Is the most Critical part of any Barrel!!
It is the last part of the barrel the projectile is in contact with!!
So it Must be Perfectly Perpendicular to bore and free of any defects...




Check the crown with a jeweler's loupe..
For any nicks, dents or imperfections....
Or try a cotton swab, rub around the edge of the Crown..
See if it snags any cotton fibers!!
This why if you clean your barrel with a cleaning rod, always start at the breech

its not snagging the cotton bud but it looks like it could do with a re polish or re crowned one min i get three pellets going through same hole then will get few flyers silencer seems ok know clips that i can see i defo think its the end of barrel but un sure TBH  ATB  PS I dont use rods for cleaning i use pull through cheers ATB

Well the true Definitive test....
Remove your Silencer....
It will be a bit noisy...
So if it groups... then the culprit is the silencer....
If still getting fliers..your barrel might need a good cleaning...

Cheers i will try that i have cleaned the barrel this was one of the rifles put together by old members from the old rapid site it was Raffled off to raise money for Help the Heroes its a Awesome looking Rifle i will be the third owner the rifle is in mint condition its been well looked after so its probably over 11 years old but looks brand new i love the gun ATB Phil.

It seems to like heavier pellets it likes Baracuda FT 9.57 it groups really well with them going to get some JSB just to see if they shoot ok to Thanks for you help buddy ATB Phil.
