Pellet probe spring

Hi all does anyone know the size and dimensions of  a rapid mk 1 sub 12lb .22 pellet probe spring.The one in my rifle is very strong and hard to cock so I got what I thought was the correct spring and it leaks when fired around the pellet probe.

iirc about 19-21mm long, posible there is some variation with probes.

the spring shouldn't cause it to leak unless there is a gap between the inner and outer probes when compressed ...then its too long.

The probe spring shouldn't make cocking difficult unless its too long and the outer probe is too far forward.
Have you put the belville washer in the right place?
Non adjustable bolts have the belville washer behind the inner probe,
later adjustable bolts have the belville between inner and outer.

I have seen what looks like the valve return spring mistakenly used in a photo, where the probe spring is far weaker.
Of course if you've changed the spring you'll also need to re-adjust the bolt to make sure the outer probe is still sealing.
assuming you have the new style, my way is;
loosen the grubscrew (not shown above but under 9a), close the bolt & screw in 9s, while lifting/lowering the bolt handle, once the bolt handle becomes tight against the gate, back 9s off a turn, tighten the grub screw. the bolt should now open & close smoothly with the probe spring holding the outer sealed when the bolt's closed.
With the old style bolt you need to shim under 9c to set the tension.
don't store the rifle bolt closed.

Also check the face of the outer probe and face of the breech if damaged they may need lapping together.

Thanks for your help I have a non adjustable bolt and had put the belville washer between probe inner and outer, will now put it on the end as you're diagram.

Yoda fits a thin oring in the bottom. Gives more than the washer, feels nicer on the bolt too. Al.
