I've picked up an old hw80 project that I shelved a few years back and have now purchased a new barrel.
I've gone for the ultra carbine which is threaded and was planning to use a hw100 mod that I'd got lying about.
Is this going to be robust enough as it's going to be used to cock the thing.
Feels light and flimsy to me.
It's sub 12 so not a heavy spring but I'm not sure what the leverage is going to be like.
It's a very long time since I had a hw80.
I've got a feeling that the newer guns use a lighter mainspring.

Hello Tacker. I use an HW mod from my HW100 on a sub-12 95K and I've never had a problem cocking the rifle. Unless the HW80 is very difficult to cock, it should be fine.

Ok thanks.
I'm probably worrying about nothing as usual.
