fitting the MK4 trigger casette

so,..inbound is the first of two MK4 trigger casettes complete. Anyone retro fitted one to a MK1 block,..any templates/advice??

If it is an Early MKI, with the Gamo trigger...
Well the Mark 4 trigger is not a "Drop-In" fit!!!!
You will need to Mill your MKI Receiver!!
Also the Original Hammer will not Work!
You will need to get a Mark 4 hammer too!!

But It can be Done....
Because I converted my First MKII Rapid with the Sporter trigger to a Mark4 trigger!!


a Well known PCP specialist over here in the US, that work closely with Theoben, took on the job!
Proved it could be done.... and told Theoben...

Theoben used to offer it fitting a mk4 trigger to a mk1 ..... I just wish we could get hold of the mk4 trigger

I know it can be done but has anyone here actually done it? Need tips/templates for the machining/drilling. Yes , aware of the correct hammer etc.RAW dont ship to UK and Bob long since doesnt have any.

It is best to take measurement off of you Rapid and trigger... since this is a one off Mod!
When the Airgunsmith did my MKII he did make a jig...
The Datum line is the Hammer Channel!!

So you will need to measure from the Bottom of the receiver to the bottom of the Hammer...

Measure the protrusion of the sear in the Cocked position,
from top of the trigger body.

This will give your the Stating depth of the Cavity to be milled out....

After I let him use my Rapid as a prototype..Test Subject...
He proved it could be done.. He told Ben Tayler it could be done!!
So shortly after this, Theoben put on their Website!!

but if you have any non-standard parts..they fitted OE and charged you for it...

drawing dimensions appear to be good from magazine slot back
~115mm + 15.27MM
pocket depth is within 0.3 to my 24,000 mk2 - 30.35mm mk1 28.25mm using depth guage on caliper .not the most accurate method
pocket width same as mk1 block
full length sear slot - pocket to hammer bore width 11.75mm

I never had a MKI to compare to....
I knew there was some machining involved...
I thought the cavity for the MkI was narrower....

If you have access to a CNC mill.. it would be a Breeze to Do!

trigger blade position is abit out, bering in mind that the mk1 block also sits a bit further back in the stock too.
My lockdown profect Mk2 went into an early stock for bit and I fitted a Rowan blade to shorten the pull.
