DrBob’s QF/Gauge + BestFittings CF Bottle?

Morning guys!
Has anyone used a BestFittings Carbon bottle with one of DrBob's QF setups?
Any issues or should I just stick with a new ally bottle?
Cheers

Providing the neck is straight (recent AGF thread)  there shouldn't be any issues other than 500cc bottle clearance with 16" barrel & slip-on moderator

Whilst there is no significant weight difference between the 500c/f and a 400cc (560g v +/-575g) as the alloy bottle is thicker and the weight is spread along the full length ...there is less weight 'up-front'
People say they feel lighter as the balance improves.

The Inocom 480cc bottles used by DS/FX etc are lighter 420g v 560g.

Sorry poor picture ..never gave it a thought black on black..doh

Also whilst Bob's QF only pushes the bottle forward 10mm the necks on c/f bottles tend to be a little longer.
And of course you need to cut the stock.

Fitted one to my FAC and ultimately it was more convenient to carry a spare than put my dive cylinder in the car.

@Squinty Bloody hell thanks for pointing that out I'm glad I've seen that now as I run a shroud do the last thing I need is contact!
Now I think about it, all these R10's that people stick carbon bottles on some always looked a tad droopy to me but I wasn't sure if it was a bit of an illusion as the bottles passed under the mod?

Won't help if you already have a 14x1.5 QF either, imo a new 280cc bottle is the best option
The only gain is fill pressure as they weigh the same as alloy 200/280cc.

As they are 54mm o/d v 50mm 220/300cc bottles can be tight or touching.

BF do an extended valve to fit  to R10s, pushed forward 50mm? if the threads are a little out it would look off .

@Squinty Yeah I'd noticed that, was going to be a whole new kit to be honest so would be ordering the M18 QF kit if I decided to go carbon? The project was getting a fresh bottle either way (280ally/300cf) Was just thinking of adding a touch more flash to it. 20cc extra shot count is not worth typing about especially after KevG's work and the weight is "meh" although I do kinda prefer the rounded end?
Like you say though the longer necks could cause an issue?

Squinty

Wouldn't say that the necks are an issue, the 480cc Inocom sits ok in my  S-type stock but stuck miles out on my R7.

Personally I wouldn't drill an MFR stock for a QF, there is no need to burp the bottle.. couldn't be simpler?
£100 for a new bottle and valve v £250 ...
IF 100% absolutely necessary I'd rather pay the shipping and duty on a V-Type reg & QF from RAW.

@Squinty
Does look tidy pal!
No I agree wouldn't be drilling an MFR stock ever! I did think about a RAW qf a while back but I acquired a ttr stock already notched for a DrBobs qf unit so unless they match dimensionally I'm stuck. The stock will shroud the bottle neck somewhat.

Squinty

Fair play, about the same time  I got that one there was another S-type stock for sale at half the price; only problem (to me) was that it had been cut for a QF.
As it worked out I was quite pleased with with that.

I don't think RAW export to the UK..not even sure if Elite can get Theoben /early RAW parts.

@Squinty Ive always liked the SType stocks!
The RAW units look well made to be honest although I'm not sure how bothered I'd be about being able to remove the bottle?
Definitely seem to be a pain to get hold of!
