Evening all
Can anyone recommend anywhere in the NW to re anodise one of my blocks that's starting to look a little tired?
Also I'm looking for somewhere to cerakote another block, again if anyone can recommend anywhere (not LSD)
Cheers guys!

I just looked up local 'metal finishers' on line when I had one to do,
prepped it myself, just a rub down & degrease, took it down & they popped it in with another job, £25 cash.

Yeah probably the way it's going to end up going? Just concerned about the finish quality really.

Yeah bargain! Specially if it's a decent job too?

For the best finish make sure to ask for "Hard Anodising"  ;)
I didn't, because that would have been a full 1 off job around £125 + vat

@angrybear
Ouch!!
But that's pretty much exactly what you need on something that gets mechanically handled I guess??
Do the action justice too.

You could try anodizing yourself, I practiced a few times on different aluminiums. The block I made that you see was 6082t6 it has a higher silicon content which was a bit harder to anodize, it had a very smooth finish and a more gun metal gray finish, the longer you leave it the darker it gets but it adds thickness to the block, you have to watch tolerances etc.

@Millingman that looks great!
I just wish I had the free time and the confidence to attempt it on my rapids to be honest. Anything else and I wouldn't be too fussed.

@Mickyd Had some work done earlier this year and really wish I hadn't bothered. Not impressed at all and beyond difficult to work with. Some people have good things to say about his work, but I can't recommend him nor will I be wasting any more money there.
