Hi
I have done lots of testing with slugs basically i can make them from 20 grain up and in two different base shapes , soon to be three .
So my findings
All the slugs I have found bought and my own will have a speed with that slug that will suit your barrel , it's twist rate it's shape and it's length
At the moment I am using 25.4 cup base slugs at 950 fps giving approx 50 ftlb
The gun also works well on 28 grain ,this is with a 24 " polygonal barrel
If I swap to my 16 " lother walther barrel same gun settings each lug drops to about 35 ftlb so if I want to maintain the same speed I have to drop weight .
Accuracy with slugs is very possible but you will have to find out what works
Single hole groups at 50 yard in a wind sub inch at 100 on a calm day, I sold my Fx impact to a guy who is getting sub inch at 150 yards but that gun had a lot of work and is running at 60 ftlb and. 700 mm barrel

Thanks Aggy, thats very helpful. Do you sell sample packs of different weights of the slugs that you make? Also whats the difference in down range retained energy between slugs and pellets?

Aggy

Hi wher about are you from ?
Slugs have a much better bc than pellets
A pellet is like a shuttle cock and is drag stabilised, push them too fast and you will have issues , typically if you go supersonic they will be ok if they stay supper sonic until the target but if they drop below the speed of sound they go through the transonic point and will become unstable .
In my opinion supersonic pellets are pointless.
Slugs are spin stabilised and require the correct twist rate barrel and speed to work .
They are better in the wind ,they are better at energy retention depending on design expand better than pellets .
I don't really sell slugs , I have given away lots though ,
Even if you find a weight and design of my slugs you can't go to a shop and buy them so unless I make your slugs you will be stuffed
given your set up I would guess you need to be around 23 grain .

All made fresh of the press as they say .
Done you 23 grain cup base and 23 grain hollow base , I have yet to find a gun that prefers the hollow base over the cup , but have a go and let me know how you get on , just need to find a Jiffy bag and I will post them .
