Ok well that's a fair bit different to your previous description, 
try swapping with the buddy bottle off a different rifle, are they std rapid fit
that will tell you if it's the bottle that's at fault

OK thank you for your input everybody, I took the rifle apart and the regulator, when stripping the regulator down, I found some dried grease and dirt, it must have entered through the quick fill port, cant see how it would have got in there otherwise, Anyway cleaned everything and reassembled with some molycote 33 because it's all I had, changed the regulator o ring and bottle o ring, re-assembled and tried to charge and everything is fine.

About that dirt... do you have a cap covering the QF fitting? Hopefully it is not coming from your tank!

Hi Stuart, I think that was the problem, I noticed that the cap was missing, and my mate is a bit of a Bog woppet (Messy) I have told him to order  new one.
