Movie sequels that cut out main characters

The Prime Minister is reportedly considering throwing England back into the same restrictions imposed last spring - where indoor hospitality was banned, according to the Sun. It emerged a day after Mr Johnson appeared to rule out any more restrictions before Christmas.

But he warned things were "finely balanced" amid a surge in the number of cases of the Omicron Covid variant.

There has already been widespread disquiet in the Conservative Party over the prospect of restrictions.

Earlier this month more than 100 backbench Tory MPs rebelled against the Government's Plan B - forcing it to rely on Labour's backing to pass the bill.

In an effort to stave off more humiliation, Mr Johnson has reportedly dispatched top doctor Sir Patrick Vallance to brief MPs on the dangers of Omicron in an apparent effort to persuade any thinking of against opposing the introduction of more measures.
