My latest Rapid

I've honestly lost count how many rapids have been through my mitts over the years  ;D

At least 30+ I would guess  ;D

My latest Mk1 .22

It's not bad condition not mint but far from scruffy the block is good and un messed with everything standard eg 16" barrel and porting etc.

I prefer it in the lighter 280cc bottle setup configuration and it shoots pretty good.

Nice and consistent on the Chrono and currently wearing an oldskool Nikko gold crown air king or bling king as I call it  ;D

Done some early testing and it favours AADF 16 grain and Accupels for the tighter groups.

Doesn't like FAP/RS or RWS super fields as the groups open up.

I'm not too sure in my plans with it as it's been a year or so since I last had a rapid and I've been shooting them for 25 years or so.

Old technology still rocks although I do miss QF, gauges and a decent trigger  :P

I think a gauge will be on the cards at some stage as I've had a rapid let me down in the field before that dumped its air from a previous full fill and I was unaware when I unpacked it for the hunting session and click nothing  ::)

I don't mind the buddy bottle removal as it's a piece of cake when you've been doing them for 25 years or so but I guess QF is still a good idea to avoid any contamination from constant bottle removals etc.

think they are much better with 200cc bottle fitted.

Nice 👌  280cc or the lighter 200cc bottles are the way to go mate - enough shots for a good day out 👍

Cheers Daz,

As you and Kev say the 200 might be an even better option  :)

Are the carbon bottles any good?

I was out the rapid scene since these have evolved not tried a rapid with a carbon bottle setup

KevG

if you reg it you will nearly get as many shots from a 200cc as you would a 400cc with out a reg.
