Carl.

What the best mounting system for the 008, seem to be reading a lot about height and zeroing being a major factor,
I've got a 007a but just can't get on with the head position "bulged disc in't neck"

a friend of mine just bought one, and when fitted he couldnt get enough elevation adjustment using the supplied mount.  We printed him some shims and it now works a treat.

You will find that a lot of digital scopes have this problem with the mounts they come with.
Once you have set up your one shot zero only then can you begin to shim up the scope.
I use negative camera film to shim my scopes with no problems.

Best Shim material.....
Aluminum or brass..
Stable, doesn't breakdown..

Both you and Stuart are ahead of me on this subject.
I always used as I said in last post.
Time to rethink.
