Silencer Baffles.

Baffle spacing, my preferred configuration is 3 baffles for a mod. 1 airstripper and 2 baffles for a reflex mod or shroud, this gives 4 chambers. I have tried different shapes and position of the baffles within the mod and this is what works for me. baffles are a simple 3mm thick flat disc that is machined up from delrin, I bore out the hole in the middle rather than drill to ensure the bore is 100% true, I make the disc a tight fit in the bore of the tube again so they are 100% true (I shrink them in the freezer for a few minutes so that I can assemble them easier) I place the first baffle 15-20mm from muzzle, second 25-30mm from that, third 35-40mm and the last chamber to the endcap is always the longest 50-80mm.

I have tried curlers but now machine up my own cages from 20mm plastic conduit, I machine 6x5mm slots down the length of the cage, I then wrap these in layers of craft felt (forget pan sponges or scourers) not too tightly as I don't want to over compress the felt (I use uhu to secure the start of the wrap to the cage and again to secure the last wrap to itself) I find this makes a neat little cassette that is easy to install inside the tube. I also find that a felt disc/washer glued into the endcap helps the tame the muzzle report.

If you are able to reflex then I always add some back venting of the tube, I groove the barrel support to allow the air to escape but 6x1mm radially drilled holes does the same thing (make up a short cage wrapped in felt to cover the holes to help slow/deaden the blast)

You can play around with baffle spacings and amount of back venting but do this with a pellet as pressure inside the mod is not the same as if it were dry fired.
Cages, I make mine from 20mm conduit with slots machined rather than holes (slots seem to have a slight edge when compared over the dB meter) where possible make the spacing random length, so for example, rather than 40mm/30mm/50mm/endcap. I would go with 37mm/29mm/54mm/endcap.
Conduit is much stronger than curlers so much less likely to collapse under the repeated shock loads of the firing cycle.

Here you go Maxwell.
