Rapid mk2 sub 12ft hammer springs

Hi chaps, does anybody know where i can buy a selection of hammer springs for a sub 12 mk2 .20 rapid please. Im NOT looking for FAC ones just a selection i can try in my rapid, so i might not need to pack out with washers as i have to do now. I know T R Robb does them but was wondering if theres anyware else. Thanks all.

I do hammer springs.they are the proper ones and full length so have to be cut down for sub 12 ftlbs. But rapids can vary in power with same spring.

Have you fitted the kit yet and set it to pressure,  If so how consistent is it on fps.

Yes pal i fitted it today.  The old spring was giving 10.8ft with the adjuster fully screwed in but with no consistancy,  so i cut the new spring to the same length as the old one as a guide, as i could add a little pre load washer to bring it up a little if need be. So the new spring was cut to the same length as the old one and they both had the same number of coils as well, i put the new spring in and it was giving a average of 16.8ft !  I took the new spring out and started to collapse coils to bring it down. I eventualy got it shooting at around the 614fps its a .20 using JSB 13.73g. The new spring is 16mm shorter in length now than the old spring as well !  Ive done a 340 shot string over the combro and im getting a average of 613.8fps with a high of 620.8fps, low of 609.2fps over the full 340 shots !

Well you cannot complain with that, Thats great you should put a target out at 30 or 40 yards and do a group test post the results,
That would be interesting to see.

As soon as it stops raining pal i will get on one of my perms and see what its like at them ranges but for the time being im getting very very good groups at 38yrds, thats the length of my garden and i can shoot under cover here.

Yes it`s raining here as well,  Well i`m very pleased to see you got everything sorted, and you sound happy about the parts KevG`s made for your Rapid,
KevG is very dedicated to his work,  I personally think his work is outstanding and like you said in your post earlier he will go out of his way to help everyone with issue`s regarding Rapids, He`s a very nice chap.

The strange thing is, i put 50 H&N FTT 11.42g thru it as well to test and it was giving a average of 676.6fps over the 50 shots. I always thought that a heavier pellet like the JSB 13.73g would give a higher reading but the lighter H&N FTT 11.42g were giving the highest reading !

I think how it works is the lighter the pellet the faster it goes, and the heaver the pellet the slower it goes but with a much higher impact due to the size & weight of the pellet,
But i`m sure others will tell you as well to why that happens.

My FAC Rapid shoots at 28ft with 16 grain air arms ammo but if I use heavy Bisley magnums it pick up more power down range at 100 yds and is doing around 920 fps 30.8ft.
I think a lot depends on the set up and the ammo used.

Found that H&N skirts are generously oversized, FTTs, Barracudas and they seal the bore tight.

My FAC .22 runs at 35ft/lbs with 18gr JSBs but FTTs come out at 1080fps / 37ft....not that I can hit anything with them.

10ft/lbs is hell of a jump from 16gr to 21gr, although I double loaded Barracuda Match once and assuming that they broke the beams together chrono figures worked out at 49ft/lbs. Made it grunt a bit
