Right then gents,

I want to fit a 300cc Carbon bottle to my TTR.
I have 2x 280cc bottles at present so i could donate a bottle top if i had to.

I can get the bottle from Best Fittings for example, but i would assume the thread of the bottle neck is different.

How can i go about this....anyone fancy helping as this is something i 100% want to do!

Regards,
Rhys

Rhys,

Not being familiar with the CarbonFiber 300 cc bottle...
RAW web site does list all popular threads sizes for use with the MFR Reg!

Good Luck,

Rhys,

I just check Best Fitting site.
The 300 cc Carbobfiber bottle Specs:
Quote from: Best Fitting
Neck Thread: M18 x 1.5
Diameter: 220cc, 300cc – 54mm +/- 1.5mm
Diameter: 500cc –  61mm +/- 1.5mm

Length:
220cc – 200mm
300cc – 255mm
500cc – 300mm
So the threads is the same as the 400 cc bottles!

I wonder if we get a trade deal with Merca we can import rapid parts without ridiculous import fees

Thanks Stuart, from my limited understanding I think I'd need the raw 360cc neck and the best fittings bottle?

Hi Rhys,
This where you need to talk to the experts...
How it sounds like on Best Fittings site...
Their Carbon-fiber bottles all take the same valve as the standard Theoben 400/500 cc bottle valves.
You might ask Dr Bob, if he knows..
or give a call to Best-fittings...

Btw... I would need to contact RAW about what is the difference between their standard 400/500 cc
valve to the 360 Carbon-Fiber valve.

I would assume that the 360cc bottle is the aluminium 50mm o/d M14 thread version.

Am I correct in saying that the TTR uses the MFR regulator?

Yes it uses the MFR reg.

Yes it uses the MFR reg.

so you'll need either a RAW 400/500 MFR valve or see if KevG will convert a standard valve.
I have no idea what the difference is ...besides no valve  o-ring / sealed reg pip

I've just got one of the 200cc (?) bottles. Yes it's the same thread as the 400cc bottle valves.

The outer diameter is slightly bigger than the ally bottles. Mine is around 54mm and doesn't fit the rifle intended. Gutted.
The shroud is too wide and they clash by a couple of mm

Brooksy

Phil, what is your shroud made out of?

As an aside I got my 300mll carbon today. Be advised if your fitting to a mk11 stock, free flow valve, it may bottom out on the side of the stock and cause a rub mark on the bottle. Don't ask me how I know. ::) Dremel to the helm.

It's a carbon fibre one that I purchased off the r7oc before the crash, I can't remeber the guys name now. Its made in a shed but nice and quiet.

I'm not sure of the diameter either and I'm just away with work so I can't check.

Sorry, I've realised that this post isn't much use  ::)
