Hi did he make any rapids with smooth twist barrels

No that was a later development he did after leaving Theoben.
But I am sure he did Retrofitted the Smooth-Twists to existing Many Rapids!!!!

I fitted one to my .177 mk1,it's good but not realy any better than a standard decent barrel

quite possible that there were a few fitted to BTAS Rapid.
iirc when he cleared out his old stock there was a rake of smooth-twist barerls available
pretty sure HW100 tuning went down and took the lot.

yes got a fair bit of stuff of Ben when he was on  about retirement.

Not quite - I managed to get two .177's and two .22's :-)    Bens prices were ridiculously low so I couldn't refuse :-)     

Funnily enough a week ago we were testing one which had been machined up for a rapid and it loved heavies at 40 yards doing better than sub 5p groups easily.  Those original smooth twists were always good, I had one on my mk1 wildcat.....then they came up with he stupid liner system  :-)

They are good barrels - got 3 smooth twist barrels for my mk1 impact .177  .22  .25
