This rifle is a lash up!

I am the new kid on the block here. I knew nothing about Theoben rifles. I have had some good assistance, and now are asking for more. Yes, I got the rifle at an amazing price, but all that glitters is not always gold! First the stock is not a fit for this rifle, its now modified to fit. Then it emptied bottles as soon they were put on the gun. Advised firing 'valve', removed and found two o rings on the stem, remove the glitter filter advised, this leads to a complete replacement of the sequence train. I was advised removed the trigger and bolt assy to get at the valve without damage. What was revealed was a lash up of an internal and external spring. Both springs are just cut and unfinished as regards to a coil on the ends (image). Kev G advised I finish the springs. But the real kicker is yet to come. Through research I noticed what has so far not been mentioned, there is an item missing, its the 'buffer spacer' that sits in the bolt on a platform, its task is to stop the inertia weight working its way up into the spring, But add to this that inner spring has passed down into the bolt and now rests on the rear of the inertia weight, so cramping its style.(image).To be fair to this rifle it did not fail in service, it was built to have problems. So to date a rifle in several pieces, Those springs are going! Question Where can I get the single FAC spring and follower from please? kevG advised replacement of valve, stem, spring, guide, so Q. Where do I get them from? I thank you for your assistance here gentlemen, without it I am truly stuffed!

Your offer to make me the parts to spec, is an offer I would be foolish to refuse. I will put all on hold until I PM you. Thank you.

Dr Fox

Hi Stuart.
All in hand. Had an interesting chat with Kev, wheels are in motion for all parts needed for re-furb of rifle.
Regards Denis.

Oh my days! After a package arrived today from kevG and fitted, the rifle is now as it should be. All the components were of the best quality and workmanship. After regarding Kev's instructions on both phone and eMail, fitting was a doddle. Spent the first hour just firing different pellet weights, to get everything settled (didn't need it) just an excuse to get it shooting. Tomorrow out with the chrono and a proper session for final adjustments. A new start for a great rifle, cheers Kev, its all you promised. Regards.

For me the advantage of Kev's internals, is that I now have control over tune and output. And at the mo it looks like 34ft lbs with Barracuda 18's @ 18.13 grns. But to be fair, both I and the rifle have yet to settle down lol.
Cheers all.
