I snip this from a post I made in KevG Area...
I thought it deserved more exposure to All the Rabid Rapid Owners!!!

OK Rapid Minions...

Are you are have trouble installing that Valve-body tail O-ring???

Here is a little tool I just turn on my Lathe...
Valve-Body Tail O-ring installation Tool....
I made it out black Delrin.
Front end is turned down to the same size as a Valve-stem's Stem.
The Back end is the same diameter as the Tail of the Valve-body, but with a a gentle 5° taper on the end

So just slide the small end into the tail of the Valve-body.
Then grease up a tail O-ring and slip over the tapered end of the tool.
Then just roll her home!!
EZ
I only use D90A (hard) O-rings in my rapids!

If you think this can help you.... Give KevG a Call.... I am sure he could turn few of these on his Lathe!!

Hi Stuart,
nice little tool.

I made something similar to get an O ring on the bottle spigot of my MFR.

However, my question is;

Where can I get D90A O rings?

I actually need a BS008 PUR90 Polyurethane O ring but your item might do.

Sandy.

Hi Sandy,

I am located across the Pond in the US....
There are several suppliers I use for O-rings..
The One I use the most for raw materials and shop supplies
McMaster-Carr..

Good Luck,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
many thanks for the info.

I checked out their website and was much impressed at the O ring selection available.

Couple of metric to imperial calculations and menu selections and I got BOTH Buna and Polyurethane items.

The Buna items are pretty cheap but postage would probably dramatically increase cost (I'm a Scot with a reputation to live down to 8))

Their Polyurethane item is just as expensive as the specific part from here. Postage on top, obviously.

Not for Rapid, unfortunately but my Air Arms Pro Target regulator.

Again, appreciate the heads up.

Sandy

Nice little tool - I've used something similar (although smaller) for BSA Probe O rings....we nicknamed them "witches hat" as, well, thats what they looked like.

Its little tools like this that makes life so much easier....and theres always a market for that  ;D
