Dog screw

Got hold of a 97/98 r7 ft (well I think it could be it has the stock and gm trigger and it's a 177 block and barrel)a good bit back got round to servicing it today pulled the hammer out it was filthy and covered in really old oil got the bolt handle off after a small squabble with it (it has white thead lock on) then went to get the cocking dog off and it is tight as a nuns! 🤣🤣 dont want to try any harder than I am as that Allen is in a bad place if it snaps off not sure if it has ever really been apart before though the hammer spring was cut and not finished and inertia spring was out of a pen I think🤣🤣 both those are sorted now but the dog screw is dead set on staying where it is any pointers on how to get it out with out it or the allen key snapping? Or should I take it to somone who can sort it out and set it up 100% perfect?

they can be chuffing tight for a little bolt, really need a long reach hex key or something like an engineers straight set but make sure that the key is the correct size.
I used a 1/4" extension and clouted in a torx bit on one that rounded off.

Worst case senario if you have to drill the head off.....Bob sells new adjustable bolts.

3/32 key is needed.dont use a ball end type as these can break of.then your in shit creek.even expensive keys such as snap on or bondus can break on the ball end.

inertia spring should be very weak and does look like its out of a pen.this allows the weight to travel easy and do its job.a to strong a spring will stop it working.

Kevs right definitely don't use a ball end Allen key, I did, it snappped off in the screw and I had a real job drilling it out. Got there eventually, once the ball end was out I then had to drill out the screw to finally release the cocking dog to remove the bolt. Got straight onto Dr Bob for one of his adjustable types. Is all good now !!

I'll post some pics of the inertia spring that was in it straight out of a pen for sure! 😂 I've been using a long reach ball end but knew I was risking it with a ball end and cant find my straight 3/32 at the moment I work in a sh1t tip or as I like to say organised chaos!😂😂 It's not leaking and it's not bad over the chrono just want to service it so i know it's all ok and get the oil out of it and give the block a good clean out and set it up with all fresh orings

hard to tell properly from a picture but the smaller top one looks correct.it should be a snug fit on the inertia nose.

It was the one on the bottom that was in it! Didn't even fit on the nose it's almost the the same od as the inertia weight kevg!

yes that was wrong then m8.some times the inertia spring can smash up.thats caused because  no hammer pip thred extends into the hammer chamber.between 1 and 2mm thred should protrude into the hammer for spring to sit onto.

The hammer is different to my others it has a cut down the middle and a sear engagement flat on it the others are just round with no cuts or steps take it this is to make the gm trigger work? Do they fall apart like the gamo triggers do if you remove the pin? Without pushing a slave pin through first?

that hammer is for a genuine theoben gold medal trigger.which it should have if its a ft model.yes you need a pin.

That is a very nice looking stock if I may say so.
Some very nice grain and a very nice colour.
Most of them stocks I have seen have been very dark in colour.
