Anyone know whether one of Bob's trigger units will go in an early mk1 ?
Thanks

Ca_Varminter

Yes and No.....
No in can not be a straight exchange of triggers!!!
Yes your receiver can be Machined to allow the Mark 4 trigger to fit!!
My Rapid was the  first conversion ever done ...on my Early MKII/!!
Once the concept was proven Theoben did offer the service!
They would Convert Any Rapid to use the Mark 4 trigger!

its false economy.price of trigger plus hammer.the machine work to block.far exceeds selling the mk1 and putting a £100 to it and buy a mk2.

That is true KevG....
But over here....
We do like Our guns... and investing  into it ....
Well we can enjoy it more!
Here is the kicker..
The gunsmith that did the Original work on my Rapid..
Who notified Theoben about his success...
Well he is still doing the conversion to this day...

I have a fairly  decent Gamo trigger in my FAC, bit long in the pull but sorted by Ian Collins some years ago.
Had the option of a mk4 trigger upgrade but by then the outlay and build price was already well over £1k.

With a mk2 in the cupboard now....I do wonder whether that should have been done. Would be nice but unfortunately not economical.

KevG

the gamo can be made pritty decent.

yep the gamo triggers can be fettled into a decent trigger - they haven't got the adjustability of the mk4 but there's a few things you can do to make them better 👍

Replacing them with the gold medal trigger unit and hammer is one of them 🤣
