I have about Hmm,  Maybe 15 of these theoben rapid seal kits,... But you know what always confused me?,

When they sent the seal kit it was always for the Mrk2, and not the Mrk1, even though i told them time and time again that mine rapid was the mrk 1.

:D

But you know what, To me it didn`t matter what they did, I loved my Rapid that ben created and thats all what mattered at that time.

I also recall a phone call to Theoben with me,  As i told them i had this horrible curve that i was trying my best to sort out over the crono,...they forgot to turn the phone cal off,...so i could here everything  that was being said....and what was said about the Mrk1 is that he not beep beep surprised that my mrk 1 had this massive power curve.

KevG put that right and to this day forward i can honestly say with my hand on my heart,...that his reg made my rapid totally legal,...something that theoben struggled with at the time.

But the past is the past and now we have ppl like KevG & Drbob to fix what was wrong back in that day.

Regards

:)

When did you get them??
Towards the twilight time for Theoben...
Theoben was phasing out the metal valve-body seals and support...
So they the would send a seal kit(O-rings and a dab of Molykote 33)
Also they would include a Acetal/Delrin (black plastic) Valve-body....
But KevG and Dr Bob can guide you through..
Must be lucky to have both of them close by!!!

Hang on a mo....lets just slow down a little on this.......Mr KevG,....My reg is still working,....And i`ve had that longer,...so explain that :P hahahaha
How long was it when you made me my reg,...and its never been serviced,..and its still working fine...I forget how many years it was when i was at yours kevG,...But my reg that you made is still working and i`m very happy with it as well.

Infact i could`nt live without it since you fitted it to my Mrk1

Do you know what question i have about the reg you made for the mark 1, and this is a serious question,
How come Theoben could`nt make it or even think about making it,...until it was done by you or some other person,.....why even let a mrk 1 out of the factory like they did,...this a power curve like a banana.

Thank god you made it KevG,...thats all i can say,...you made something that pushed the mrk 1 into another level, Theoben should have employed you for sure.

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I still love my Mrk1 though Stuart,....Out of all the airguns i ever bought,...the mrk1 was one of the top guns i`ve ever owned.
And i did buy a Mrk2,...kinda heavy i thought,...could be me,..sold it on and stuck with the mrk1 tbh,  And have done ever since...:)
crazy ano,...but true..

Even though it bragged about power level`s over 40lbs with it`s 4mm porting.....i think thats all it had over the mrk 1,...not sure though,...but i think you and the others will correct me.

Well it was the larger Pre-Chamber...
Regulator for FAC and Non-FAC.
Also the Angled Porting..
This all helped with the Efficiency...added shot count in the Non-FAC and FAC Rapids

I mentioned it to ben taylor once about my idea of fitting a plug and play reg that any one could fit with out doing work to action.he said it could not be done.i had the idea for a few years but just not have the time to mess about with all the various ways of doing it and testing.

Hi KevG,

Don't feel bad....
I also contacted BT and Theoben about fitting the Mark 4 trigger to my Early MK II sporter trigger Rapid.
They all also replied that it couldn't be done...

Well I contact a gunsmith over here... He was well known to Theoben.
We Talked a bit about the conversion...
He said he though it can be done.. He used my rapid as the guinea pig
Well it worked out..
Best Part Theoben then started to offer the conversion!

So just tinker with it!
I love to what you come up with!

Hi I am relatively new to Forums of any sort. I would like to add some 100% TRUE FACTS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCES,---concerning my RAPID MKII.
Last year, I went to charge my air bottle, from my diver's air tank. Completed the procedure, opened the pressure release screw,--WHOOOSSHHH !----my air bottle promptly emptied. Repeated the procedure ,---same thing happened.***
So off I go to my local dive shop.----The valve is stuck open,---you need a new valve.---Job was done. ---A NEW BEST FITTINGS VALVE was fitted to my gun air bottle and my dive tank serviced,---NOT A CHEAP VISIT !
Now I do not do a tremendous amount of shooting, my gun air bottle let me know it was empty when I recently pulled the trigger, ---so tried to fill it.
GUESS WHAT ?--***same thing happened.
To say I was extremely angry would be an understatement, having paid a decent amount of cash six months ago, I do not expect a brand new valve to be stuck open again , bearing in mind this was the FIRST FILL from a new valve and a full service.
So spent a day on the internet looking for something that is of a superior quality to BEST FITTINGS VALVES.----Through personal experience I regard these valves as very inferior.---I would not recommend them to anyone.
Anyway JIMMIE DEE AIRGUNS was extremely helpful, and put me on to DR. BOB'S GUNBITS.----I had a long conversation with Dr. Bob, patred with some cash and waited for my goods to arrive, which they duly did.
TOTALLY IMPRESSED, ----QUALITY ENGINEERED PRODUCTS. Plus i now have a pressure gauge to monitor my gun bottle air pressure. After fitting DR. BOB'S QUICK FILL DEVICE ( which came with very clear instructions ) my gun has been taken to the next level. The air flows directly to where it is needed and it is much more powerful.

I am not advertising on behalf of DR. BOB'S GUNBITS, ---just saying THANK YOU for the advice and help I received in sorting out my problem. I repeat also my thanks to JIMMIE DEE AIRGUNS
