RAPID 7mk2 fac

Good evening

I currently have a rapid 7mk2 in fac with direct flow and fill to 170 bar to get approx 3 mags of consistency down to around 120 bar.
This pushes the 18.13 jsb around 985 FPS average

I have the option of a short core reg ( kev Gi think ) and was hoping this is compatible with my set up so I could fill to 250 bar in the carbon bottle to get more shots around the 40 ft/lbs mark

What are people's thoughts on this please

Thanks

With a fast flow, it's the valve & barrel port size that control the air flow & smooth out the sweet spot.

With a reg the shooting pressure is set lower with the barrel port opened to allow the same volume of air per shot as the smaller port at higher pressure.
So it's rather more involved than just fitting a reg.

May also find that the reg is more consistent at 210-220 bar.
Short core reg should pobably make 35-36fpe with 6mm valve ports on standard barrel.
40fpe may need a trick valve and a plenum extension for extra volume.

Many thanks and I may just be better leaving it well alone then if it's not just a case of fitting a reg and job done

Bit more to it than I first thought then it seems :)

tbh if your mk2s power curve is 170 down to 130 bar something is not quite right even if it is producing the power.
Either valve or barrel porting narrowing the power band and choking it off above 170.
mk2 fill pressure is typically around 210-220 and capable of 40-45fpe
Shot count is right around 3 nags but seems to be a lot from only 40bar.
My Rapid 7 would give 40 @ 38fpe from 400cc 200 to 130
