Hi all
Im wondering Can i use PTFE tape on any of the threads on a rapid mk1 ?

Ca_Varminter

Well any of the sealing fasteners have O-ring on them....
You usually only use Teflon tape on tapered thread to seal them...
What threads are you concerned about??

Stuart

Squinty

The valve location grub screw can often need a few wraps if its letting air past.
Other threaded parts that hold air have o-rings

Hi Jamie,
Teflon Tape will little or No effect on Sealing with Straight threads....
The sealing of Teflon Tape is of more use on Tapered Thread!

If you have trouble sealing due to smaller O-ring...
Well You can Use the Teflon tape in the O-ring groove, to expand a Teeny bit..
To help the O-ring to Seal!!

Good Luck,
Stuart

Absolutely no need, O rings are designed for just that job, thing is they're also designed as consumables, often single use,
Those caps & the fast flow only come off once in a blue moon, so always clean the surfaces & fit a new O ring with a dab of the correct lube, they cost pence each.
