Buddy bottle valve removal

If you need to remove the valve from your 400 or 500 buddy bottle and want to do it without damaging the bottle.....

You need a stauff hydraulic pipe clamp

It grips the bottle tightly without marking the finish and allows you to remove the valve easily

Pipe clamp sizes required
200/280 50mm
400/500 60mm

Just tried doing an old 280 with shrader valve .. can't get it to budge even with a little bit of heat

I'm using the clamps in a vice .. with mole grips any advice how to get it off

Assuming it has no air left 
Grind a couple of flats on the valve and get a spanner on it

failing that cut the 1/4bsp thread off, hammer in a torx bit and use an impact driver..comes free so easily you wonder why you wrecked the valve

The early valves can be a pain to remove, they went a bit mad with the loctite.
As you won't be using the valve again you could clamp onto the threaded part tightly with your vice grips then shock it with a hammer, but before that get the valve hot to kill the loctite

At this point...
There is no saving the valve.
So Good Stillson pipe wrench and some heat!

2 nuts on the thread to turn the valve & 5-10 mins in a pan of boiling water to heat it through

Hi I read a thread about. Putting the valve in boiling water for a while worked to loosen locktite

I ground some spanner on flats on mine, tightened the spanner up in a vice with the bottle valve in place.
Twisted the bottle off the valve with a boa strap thingy.
Was a doddle.
Make sure the bottle is empty.
I've got a feeling I showed the valve a little heat before doing so with a gas torch.

Standard threading so To Screw Off....Anti(counter) Clockwise
