How to Adjust the MK II Sporter trigger (teardrop safety knob)

Adjusting the Sporter Trigger on the MK II
This trigger has the Tear-Drop shaped Safety knob, in front of the Trigger Blade!!

Well first we have to figure out which version of the Sporterf Trigger one you have...


The first version only used the "sear strut" to engage the hammer.
The following version, Theoben added the "Sear Lever Arm" supported by the strut, to hold the hammer back
Then in some of these, they didn't install the last spring on the lever arm....

The springs to the right of the trigger blade: The first one is for the strut, second is for the lever arm (if present!). The key here is to balance the spring(s).

With the your rapid cocked, you will do the following:

This step is only need if you have the version with the second lever spring present.
Back out the strut spring tension screw by a turn, and screw in the lever arm spring tension screw all the way in. Now pull the trigger and hold it, your rapid shouldn't shoot.
Then back out the lever arm spring tension screw until your rapid fires. add another 1/2 turn.

The rest of the steps is for all Sporter Trigger models!!

Cock you Rapid Again. Now screw in the strut spring tension screw all the way. Now pull the trigger and hold it, it shouldn't fire....
Back out the strut spring tension screw until your rapid fires, and add another 1/2 turn.

Now to adjust the first Stage pull. Turn the Strut spring screw in (clockwise) to lighten. Out (counter clockwise) to increase the pull weight!

Next we will adjust the second stage engagement point and pull weight.
All this is accomplished by the large hex screw in front of the trigger blade. Between the safety and trigger.

First is to adjust the engagement point.
With you Rapid cocked, pull the trigger. As you pull the trigger, you should have light resistance up to a point.
This is the take up of the first stage pull.
Now when you reach the second stage. A definite increase in pull weight will be felt. So now your rapid should fire with little or no travel.
So if don't feel a second stage, you need to screw in this large screw by a 1/8 to 1/4  turn. Retest
Like I said you want to feel a Definite second stage. next it should fire will little or no travel . So adjust until you are happy with it. Now for the second stage pull weight. If you look inside of this screw you will see another smaller Allen hex screw!
You will screw it in to increase the second stage pull, out to decrease

That is about it !!
