I have asked this on the other forum but as not all experts are on both, I'll ask here as well.

What makes of Barrels were factory fitted on Rapids & how do you tell what you have ?

There seems to be some "slight disagreement" over rifling profiles, my thought is that it might make a good reference data sheet.

I have a .25 barrel with 10 narrow groves & wide lands,
while my .22 barrel has more of a 50/50 ratio 12 grooves.

Anschutz Barrels and Lothar Walther are the ones I know of that were used.

Well the rule of thumb on barrels...

Majority of .177.22 barrels were Anschutz... by agreement
But the .20 and .25 were Walther...Because in those days Anschutz weren't tooled up for those calibers!!!!

Also Walther .177 and .22 were used only when Anschutz couldn't supply them!!

Then visual difference is the width of the Lands of the rifling..
Usually Anschutz uses a narrow Land especially in Airguns!!

until 2006ish Theoben adverts stated Anschutz barrels and after; "high quality German".

All four of my Rapids had LWs and I bought a handful of s/h barrels which according to the wide land/thin land rule of thumb.. have also been LWs.

I've seen barrels for sale quoted as Anschutz /Annies but never seen a picture of the crown to actually show the difference  🤔

Lothar Walther.
