He was nice to allow me to copy His Design!

This give your Rapid a more Consistent hammer Strike and valve opening!
To see a little demo, take a look at my post here:

brillient demonstration of what KevG has achieved after all he`s put into the Theoben Rapid Range,

I for one cannot thank KevG enough for everything he`s done in making my Rapid Mrk 1 achieve the goal`s it`s achieved with all his modifications,

And on a personal note,... and this is a serious one too and should be noted,......

This forum would not be here if KevG could not stand up to his work on the Theoben Range,......  He is one hell of a guy with a heart of gold,

Nuff Said...!

Thanks ca, have seen the videos too and that should make it have a quicker lock time too which is always góod less chance of human error

KevG

the primary idea behind them was to lessen the hammer bounce so to smooth the firing cycle down.normaly hammer bounce occurs while the pellet is traveling up the barrel and also after its left.so the extra pulses add to the power.so for same hammer pre load power can go down a little with the DTI.so little more hammer pre load is needed maybe half a turn on the hammer plug adjuster.so it gives snapier faster lock time and less report at the muzzle.but you would need a good silencer to notice this.the noise seams less drawn out and shorter.gains are smoother cycle/15%extra shots and better groupings down range as long as other things such as barrel are OK.

Mr Bond

Do you have to alter the spring rate at all for different reg pressures or is it based purely on the mass of the hammer? I'm thinking the higher pressure, the more push back the valve is going to give.

A question for KevG, sorry I wasn't clear

not realy as long as your running in the same power band.say for example a .177 mk2  reg setting is 1500 psi.you can turn reg up to around 1700 psi or drop it to 1300 psi and power would be same if the hammer pre load is left the same.problems occur when reg is set to high as it can need more hammer pre load for same power to overcome the extra pre chamber pressure.all well and good untill buddy bottle pressure drops below reg set pressure as then the power will go up over the legal limit.now a reg pressure to low will actually loose shot count as the valve does not shut of as fast and can waist air and makes it prone to more hammer bounce.its always best to make sure you can get around 30 fps more than whats needed then back off.that way you know you are not thrashing the reg.

That makes sense Kev. I had spiking issues on a couple of edguns I fettled (Leshiy 1 and a Lelya 2). Spiking is notorious with these coming off reg with the factory set up.

Thanks
