After lots of looking I finally managed to get myself a Mk1 and on my doorstep to make it better. Its a .22, has a KevG moderator and fires as quiet as you like, the sights were on it and need setting up as he only fitted it to sell. I'm not too sure of the cut out stock, which has been re-finished and lacquered, but its growing on me.

KCE

A nice looking rapid.
Im sure I have seen that stock before somewhere.

I just found out that is the stock I made to order and it was bought from a chap in Barnsley.
I also recognise the neat brass trigger shoe on it as I bought 50 of them.

#5
It certainly does yes.
Although its from near Barnsley, from my conversation with the guy I bought it off he knew nothing of who did the stock modification.
As I said its been refinished but I like the feel of the stippling on the grip, a bit of the same on the fore end would have been nice as well.

PhilH,...

Thats really, really nice pal,....top job looks fantastic m8,

:)

KCE

Yes I think I am the only one who does a 3 stage stipple much better feel and grip I think.
I would have also put on a nice rosewood cap but the chap did not want one fitted.
Here is another one I did that week.

Yes your stock is a very nice piece of walnut with nice grain would have looked nice with an oil finish but I give the customer what they ask for.

Yes, I'd have preferred an oil finish.
Is it too late to change it to oil to be honest under the lacquer it may just has well be beech, its a shame to spoil a nice piece of wood.
