Got the idea from a tv programme I was watching a while ago.....

Whats the silver badge below your medals Daz?, I can't zoom in enough.

Lad next door to me is a forward planesman on a Vanguard class and he's just started a 2 week total isolation tied up alongside before taking the sub for a shakedown and training run after a refuel and overhaul, then its patrol time so he reckons he won't be home for 9 months minimum this time.

It's the Nuclear Deterent Patrol pin Scott- awarded for completing between 1 & 10 deterent patrols - after 10 a gold pin is awarded.

Yep you're guaranteed to do a fair amount of time away in the Royal Navy....

Just spoke to my mate who I was on HMS Renown with and the gold pin is awarded after 20 patrols not 10 as i posted....
