Anschutz Repair Success.

I've been sent two Anschutz trigger units out of Rapids over the last month. The sears are on order, but I'm being quoted up to six months for delivery to the RFD.
So, I had three broken sears in my tool box from previous repairs and a cheap MIG welder plus a bench grinder.
I've never welded before, and my idea was to put a blob of weld on the end of the broken sear, then grind it back into the shape I need for it to function again.
I fired up the MIG this morning and practiced on a couple of bits of steel that were about the same thickness as the broken sears. Once I'd got the amps and wire speed right, I left the settings where they were and set about figuring out how to keep the mounting hole clear of molten steel. This is crucial, as it's an oval hole, 2.4mm by 4mm and pretty impossible to drill out while positioning correctly. So, I took a graphite rod and carefully shaped the end to fit exactly where the oval hole needs to be, thankfully, they usually break off leaving a telltale mark which is one side of the hole.
Placing the sear onto a piece of 6mm aluminium plate and clamping it down with the earth clip, I positioned the graphite rod and set about welding around it until I'd built up a fair blob of molten steel. To my surprise, the graphite rod pulled out easily, leaving a mounting hole exactly where I wanted it.
Ten minutes work on the bench grinder and a touch up with a Dremel had it looking like a new sear again. This followed with the other two. I picked the neatest one and fitted it to the trigger unit. A quick test in my Rapid block and all was good. Posted back to the owner this afternoon.

Nice bit of improvised repair work there Brooksy, it being a fiddly little component.
Is this a common fault with the Annie triggers?
I have a Mk11 with an Anschutz trigger and tend to take the cocking action very delicately knowing that the trigger parts aren't easy to get.
Nice precise triggers to use.

Nice Work...
I didn't know it was just a piece of bent sheet metal!
One of my clients is a Sheet Metal Fabrication shop
The have a CNC Laser Cutter and Break..
They do make  many  Small precision parts...
You should check Fab shop out to do a small run...

It isn't a common fault. They are actually very tough trigger units. They only break when people remove them, then refit them without holding the bolt back in the cocking position. What happens is, the sear is forced onto the shoulder of the hammer instead of lining up with the recess. When you tighten the Allen bolt, it gradually forces the sear down and something breaks.
The same thing happens with the HW100 trigger.
