Blanking plug thread size

Good day All

I have an old friend (80) that shoots an early mk2 with the fixed trigger. Its in a bit of a rough state and leaks on the bottle vavle, blanking plug, and the exhaust valve so its needs some TLC.

I have renewed the O-rings and i have and new exhaust valve from Dr Bob.

Problem is more the blanking plug, looks like someone f*&@ked up the allan key socket so a new one is needed.

What kind of thread is the plug, I thought it was 1/4 bsp but it is not. A 1/4 is very loose in the hole. I measured the plug diameter and was wondering if it could be M14?

Hope someone can point me to right direction

Unless it was rethreaded.....1/4'BSPP was standard

Strange the damaged plug diameter is 14mm and is a snug fit, a "best fittings" 1/4 BSPP is 13mm and a loose fit.

Is there so much difference between the plugs?

The bottle fits but its a loose fit, compared to the orginal plug, the thread looks a bit damaged to me.

Wondering if someone ever used an buddy bottle as an plenum when regulated?

The plug that was in the block is for sure not a 1/4 bsp so in the past the thread was fucked and it was changed to m14 :(

Well if that is how it is setup now....
I have found over on my side of the Pond, Stainless Steel high pressure blanking plug: 14 x 1.5mm straight threads
Rated at 4500 psi...
From one of my dealers that I get all my HPA fittings and O-rings
So they are available... check your local HPA dealers on your side of the Pond..

Good Luck Again...

Has to be said that female thread looks pretty terrible whatever it is.

Ca_Varminter

If you are worried about the thread...
You always can put a Heli-Coil in to give good threads

Think that must be done or make a custom plug. The thread is M14×1.25 and I cannot find this plug with a O-ring on the Internet.

All plugs that I can find are M14×1.5
