Novel Way To Gain A New Permission! 😁

I got called out to a serious incident on the railway last night, it was a bit of a mess, so we had to wait for an hour to gain access to the track and train. While I'm standing there with several coppers and ambulance crew, a fella comes out of a neighbouring house and asks what's happening, after all, there were six police cars, an ambulance and two fire engines sitting there with blue lights on.
I told him why we were there and that I used to be a signalman on the crossing next to his place. I then offered him a copy of a photo showing the old signal box and his house, taken in 1963 by an old mate of mine.
Then he said he'd got horses on the next two fields. Of course, I ask about rabbit problems and that's it, I'm on there!
Every cloud as they say!
