stock modification an dedication to @mattb

this Is going to be a long post ..


so I own 2 rapids having owned many over the last ten years having buying sold kept and swapped lots of things parts bits and bobs and had accumulated what I thought was the ultimate set up of parts and bits I'd selected and stored and watching it come together through this small community was brilliant 

people always offerd help and advice ..to which I done as best as I could to return any advice and bits I could spare ..

now to current date .  I had finally acquired a Dr bobs quick and the ultimate hens tooth a raw regged quickfill..

now my stocks needed to be modified/upgraded 
I've seen many done with these half circle relief cuts to alow gauges and quick fill so I no it can be done 
so I ask the community for info 
help 

and the first reply within a matter of minutes 
was Mattb 
not only had he done this previously on his own stocks..he makes his own stocks aswell 

offering to do it for free 

nothing in my life to date has come free so sceptically i sent them to him off of the trust of the website alone me and mattb had only ever spoke or crossed path a handful of time at most on the forum

not only had he done the relief cuts for me but asked me if he could re stipple and re chequre the stocks for me 

coulntdnt belive it .I didn't feel like permission was needed as I felt indebted  to the man 

he has had gone above and beyond 

rubbed the stocks back to bare re chequered re stippled oiled and waxed relief cut in 1 for the rowan triggers i have ,the other had matriel removed for block to sit flush 
the butt plates shaved and matched to the stocks 
blown away

having literally only got home from recieveing them back and my son being asleep I cannot unfortunately bolt them up ..but those photos will along tomorow so heres a colage of photos from
start middle and end result 👌 

so want to say thank you to the forum and comunity ..

and matt you sir are a true gentlemen thank you for your work effort and time
