The roots will grow back m8 as it is not systemic so wont get to the roots trust me.

I did my weeds like this too & my weeds have not grow back yet Kev, Infact i did the driveway only a few days ago like this and all the weeds have gone,...But the best part of it is by using boiling water it`s also pet friendly and no harm will come to any pets that decide to do its business on your driveway lol,
