Painting a buddy bottle

What paint do people recommend for painting a buddy bottle, or is there any other  suitable products for refinishing a buddy bottle

Any good quality Paint would be fine...
One Important thing: Do not use any sort of Baked On paint or finish!!
i.e. Cerakote or PowderCoat..

I've used krylon to paint a stock on a sako finnfire 22lr no chips as yet and was easy to get a good finish with they do a few colours but it dont see hard use at all. I've seen a rubberised paint in halfrauds also I rekon would work well on a buddy bottle

Rightly or wrongly, I have done a few rapid bottles over the years...and this is what I did.

I used Halfords satin black spray paint, and after five minutes prep with some wet and dry paper and a good wash and dry to remove any sanding dust, two coats of the spray and they look great.

I painted up an old 400cc bottle and it came out real nice, first I completely took it back to the silver alloy bottle and then sprayed with an engine enamel from Simoniz, three coats with a fine wet and dry in between coats 👍🏻

If you want to go to an extreme level
Take a look at this Rapid..



DaveG, a very talented Airgun StockMaker did this custom paint job for a customer.
He stripped the Shroud, Bottle and Receiver to bare Aluminum.
He then prime them with a aluminum etching primer.
Then He used his airbrush, using acrylic paint....

Don't put this Rapid down when hunting in the Woods!!

Very nice.
A lot of time went into doing that.
I have a friend who does air brush custom work and also a friend who does hydro dipping.
