Pellet Sizing

Ive measured the aperture of my barrel with a standard vernier calliper (not digital) and its 5.5mm, the pellets I use (webley accupell) say 5.5mm on the tin, but are they all the same? Does anyone use a pellet sizer to ensure that every pellet is the same size going into the barrel. I see there are other brands of pellets 5.51, 5.52, 5.53mm these are such minute increments does it really make a difference ? Should I try these other sizes to see if they're a better fit ?

You already have a pellet sizer, it's called the barrel.  All pellets are sized when they hit the choke on the barrel.

And the blast of air behind the pellet on firing also goes a long way to sizing the pellet to the barrel.

Well I do have a little Gem...
So does anyone remember this guy??

The bore is tapered. so the head of the pellet would be slightly smaller than the skirt....
I use mine mainly to sort and reshape the skirt.
Any pellet that was loose, I would toss..

I got it when I ordered my First Rapid ..MK II w/sporter trigger..
The One that I had it converted to use the Mark 4 trigger cartridge..

So how does that work Stuart, simply push a pellet through a pre-sized hole with the pusher thing on the side ??

Yep...
Like I said, the bore of the sizer is tapered.
So the center pin can be adjusted in or out. depending on how much sizing you need...
So you push a pellet in that brass pusher with the round knob, until it hit that center pin.
Then push the pellet out using the cross-bar..

Looks just like the T R ROBB adjustable pellet sizer.

the pellet should be sized as the probe shoves it in to the barrel bore.
