A day at the range in shocking conditions

Fired off somewhere around 430 pellets yesterday and a few slugs, with the view of giving the rifle a good test and workout and finding some useable ammo.

3'C & wind gusts of 30 - 35 mph.

The Rapid Mk 2 performed outstandingly, best pellets so far are:

Air Arms Heavy 18.0g 885 fps
JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13g 880 - 900 fps
JSB Hades 15.89g 925 fps

Which all fed smoothly from the magazines and were accurate and consistent.

Some other observations:

Bisley magnums were surprisingly rough feeding from the magazines but good with accuracy and consistency at 845 fps.

200 bar fill, seemed too high, definitely better at 180 / 190 bar, and shot well to 100 / 110 bar, around 30 ft / lbs.

A few more to test, and now reading up on power curves and what my numbers may be trying to tell me.

Also, if it's worth me tweaking the hammer spring or considering any other tuning.

In the meantime getting on the rats is now possible.

Really enjoying the Rapid again, going with Pard 007 on the back of the day scope first and Zulus 3-12 set up next.

Thanks

Just a bit of wind chill factor then!!! Not so bad if you're moving around to keep warm but sitting still at the range.....
If going to the range in cooler weather, I take a springer or a rammer along with a pcp and alternate use to get my circulation going occasionally.
