Thinking of removing Windows 11 and going to Linux

And our server that i was thinking of running on window`s server 2025 that I've already bought the software and key to do that job.....Well that`s on hold until i decide exactly what i want to do with our server regarding who i want us to be with......

We have 3 server`s atm that are OFF LINE atm but if and when I'm ready they can be brought online no problem to run multiple sites without a doubt!

I`ve just got to decide what OS i`m going to use to do this job.....Will it be windows or will it be Linux.

I will bring our server online soon and PPL will be able to access it ADMIN only to see just HD space and FTP access,...Could be restricted to who we want having access to our servers too so we will let you all know!

I have never been a Linux Lover.....
I Cut my teeth in Windows since Win1.0
But All my programing is C++ based or Machine-Code...
In fact, I just upgraded my win10 Xeon Workstation..
I had to bite the bullets and get a Win11 machine...
Now it it is Win11-Pro i9 24core 64 GB of mem with 3ssd... 2TB System main drive..2x1TB Mirrored data drives

No idea about servers but I had considered Linux several times.
However whilst i can build a PC- plugging in wires is easy, operating systems are not in my domain.
Whilst I have a love/hate realtionship with Microsoft and the the inability to fully control waht is installed; I'm essentially too lazy after 25+ years on a Windows OS (good and bad.. Vista lol) to start

just clicked that it's been 10 years since Windows 10 was released.
Wasn't welcomed with open arms but here I am again resisting the 'upgrade' to W11 to the very last possible moment.
Pretty sure Windows Update will gobble up the RAM and run the fans at full speed once the final bell starts to toll

Well that`s it i formatted server one and installed windows 2025 Server on it and before i did that i configured the server to raid 5 and i must say it`s rocking right now.

So funny them AI Chat bots,....I have a much more powerful server than this one i bought anyways.....But when I'm not online here I'm studying about server`s and raid and lot`s of other stuff getting us ready for the big move to our very own server.

Be miles better having our own! and TBH we are starting to get there but nothing will be happening regarding moving to our very own server for 6 years as that's how much time we have on this server we are on now so YAWN.

So for now it`s me learning all about servers and raid and all the boring stuff other people fall asleep over LOL.

So now i`m starting to look at Windows Server vs Linux Server to make sure we will be running the best server software on our server! or server`s.

Still this I'm going to stay with windows server 2025 it looks and test`s the whole server just great i don`t see why we shouldn`t stay with windows server 2025 atm and it cost me a fortune too lol but it`s going to be worth it because i like the challenge of it all and I'm looking forward to bring the rapid forum server online soon,...not forgetting i have bought 3 other server with miles more power than the one that will be running the good old rapid forum.

Gets fun when you start have multiple servers..Domain, Information, Virtual Systems and SQL...
