Not being an old hand at all things Rapid, I needed to de-gas a bottle. Gave it a bit of thought and solved the problem from the odds and sods box. Used the bottle filler, and found a probe that fitted inside it without going right through. Inserted the probe, and finger tightened the filler.Hey presto de-gassed at any speed you want.I bet there is a specifically made tool for this job. Do tell, lol.

Yes Kev ideal and have done it. But when fitted with the Dr Bobs QF, thats no longer an option.I need the bottle for its buddy bottle refill role.

Did you install Dr Bob's QF?
In his kit it came with the Fosters QF socket, a small brass screw and couple of pins....

You just detach the fosters socket from you fill whip.
Install the brass screw in the neck of the Socket and drop one of those pins in the neck too.
Just snap the socket and screw-in that brass screw until air starts to flow....

If you lost them just contact Dr Bob... He has plenty of spares
He Fully support his products, no matter who own it!!!

No just 3 pieces in the kit I bought! Main body, gauge and non return filler. Awaiting Bobs return to address a couple of points.

Are you trying to use the buddy bottle to top up a rifle fitted with a QF in the field ??

If so it won't work, you need a "day tripper" bottle or similar, with a proper on/off valve.

Thanks for that, but I am using the full conversion of the bottle, valve out. As used on my Air Ranger in the field. Its proved it's worth for full use of FAC. And give the spare bottle a purpose.

I didn't know Best Fittings made that valve/gauge kit, but that's the on/off valve I was referring to needing.

Only down side is that, this buddy bottle is the same 230bar SWP as the rifle bottle so the refill pressure can only equalise between the two,
the fill pressure you get will depend on the rifle bottle size & pressure when you fill it.
Where the proper day tripper is a 300bar bottle so can top it up to full.

Still get you a few more shots though.

Bear you are on message again. But the bottle is a 250SWp Test to 352 bar. A margin over 250 is allowable. The rifle for me is filled to 170bar and topped at
150. I also have a 3ltr to which I slave the rifle with a bottle reg at 170bar, then its crows all day, lol.

Well you're right it is 250SWP on the 500cc I'd never noticed that,
but no, the SWP of a pressure vessel does not have "a margin", that's the max it should ever be filled to.
