Pellets

I'm mainly shooting bisley magnums in .22 gun seems to like them got a few different types of domed pellets rws super domes and a bag full probably  2000 of unknown domed pellets that came with gun all shoot great but all on the heavy side not sure if it's good or bad. I have a tin of rabbit magnum 2s it doesn't like no grouping at all lol.  I'm mainly on rats 25 to 50 yards. So what's everyone else shooting for rats? I'm sub 12 looking at trying some different ones :-)

Well first thing that needs to be said.... You shoot the pellet that your barrel Likes!!!
No need to waste time and air on pellets that won't hit what you are aiming at!

Those Bis-Mags is what my Rapid barrels like @ 50+ fpe...
But they are a bit heavy for sub 12 fpe guns..... you are getting about 493 fps
I would think a pellet in the 15 grain range would give better trajectory due to the bump in velocity.
I have heard good things with the Hades!!...but I don't shoot them...

Yeh pretty much on dot there highest it shoots with bis mags was 500 usually around 150bar a little less on full and less around 100bar I have looked at hades tbh not shot them tho I can't fault bis mags but want to have a look at lighter ones to see difference or pic someone brains how they got on with them. Do they really vary soo much barrel to barrel? My friend said his don't like bis mags but I figured it was just him I'm not fussed what I shoot aslong as it dropps what I'm pointing it at :-)

Well with the long history of Rapids..
The barrels manufacturers varied from Anschutz to LW....
The only calibers that Theoben strictly used LW was .20 & .25..
So the different rifling techniques, bore diameters, to how tight the choke is, will dictate what pellet will shoot good
That is Why one pellet will work in a Rapid, but not in another Rapid...

I'm not sure what mine is to be truthful it's been cut down i think it measures 14inch

At 14 inches... it has been cut down..
So maybe you should try a Pellet Sampler pack...
I am sure one of your gun dealers should have them....

Seen a few of them on eBay Before I'll have a look at some see if I can get one with some hades in

can only repeat what Stewart has said... shoot the pellets that the barrel likes.
Bisley magnums sub 12 to 50yds ... you must be the hold-over king. 

I'd try Crossman Premier or Accupel domes, these and BMs were the only pellets that Theoben recommended in the early days.

Or even some of these... the forerunners were Logun Penetrators.
They're a bit out there.. bit of a marmite oerformer but may be good if a barrel is tight.

If it's the original barrel..
either the barrel was shortened to be compact.. whatever 2" gives in manoeuvrability
Or possibly a tight choke has been removed.

I did have it zeroed at 50 but found I was shooting over nearly all rats that was close by reset zero this weekend to 25 now so Gonna have to use mil dots to to reach back of cow sheds definitely wouldn't call myself holdover king more ambitious then anything efforts there tho I go for participation awards 😂😂

Ordered some hades give them a try glad I did too cos they bumped price up soon after I ordered

The only pellets my .22 doesn't seem to like are Bisley mags & JSB monster jumbo's,
Seems pretty good with any of the JSB exacts & badged brands, Hades & Accupells,
not quite as good with FTT's or Baracuda 15's.

Are you sub 12 angrybear? My rapids is not on ticket it's sub 12 got a few different sample pellets now to go at see how it gets on with them

The fx slugs and the copper ones on end are more as a novelty rather then function for me😂

Yes, my .22 & .20 Rapids are sub 12, only the .25 is FAC.
