Looking good Kev.
That's a beauty buddy! Cant wait to see that all up and running!
not sure which way to go with it as yet.got to source a stock maker next.think this is going to have an unchoked poly barrel.
KevG
Been thinking about putting a poly on one of mine are they as good as I hear? I think raw are using em now?
heard good and bad about them.can only get one thats choked so thats going to be taken of.
KevG
Looking good Kev, I will watch this build with interest :)
Starting to get there Kev.
Looks very familiar.
Definitely want to go unchoked polygon for slugs for some serious down range accuracy and power retention.
Go with .25
I said when I saw that block it has my name on it m8 lol.
Regards kev.

I've not had a chance to get out with mine and test the barrels I have with slugs I'm not sure what one of them is either is there a way to tell? I know it's not an original by the bluing and finish on it
if you do a search on Google you should find some info and diagrams

If you have a question about what is the difference between a Polygonal or traditional rifled barrel..
Here is a photo to help.

The Polygonal is on the Right.
Stuart
My Titanium Rapid loves it's .22 Polygonal barrel...
I learnt something new again thank you for the upload Stuart.
So the poly barrel is more smooth internally less rifling.
Regards kev.
That is right Kev.
In a standard cut rifling barrel the grooves are cut into the barrel in a spiral pattern.
The Lands left behind, engrave into the pellet to getting it to spin to stabilize.
In a Polygonal barrel. A polish spiral mandrel is inserted into a barrel blank.
The whole assembly is Hammer Forged. When the mandrel is removed a sprial pattern is left behind.
So when a pellet is shot in a polygonal barrel. The pellet is Swaged in the bore(squished)
So it follows the spiral design ...
I will post a photo of a pellet pushed through both types of barrels

I've pushed pellets through the ones I have and a 19' one I have seems to have different rifling to the rest it has thin and sharp looking rifling the rest are wide ish and flat ie more normal looking
a pellet that goes through a poly barrel looks similar to a ten bob bit..
KevG
What Barrels are these Stuart.
Are they barrels that have been milled on the outside.
Regards kev.

Well Kev,
Without a look at the bore, it is hard to tell what type of rifling!
But that spiral and straight fluting on the outside of the barrel is for weight saving!!
I have never seen this on Airgun Barrels!!!
It is usually use on heavy Bull-Barrels on CenterFire rifles....Saves Weight also help Cool them!
