Title: Is this a Safe Modification ??
Post by: Topsparx1 on August 25, 2020, 12:06:23 PM
Hi all, just seen this Mk1 block for sale on eBay and was wondering if the QF modification to the block is a recognised practice or is it a bodge up ?

The guy is selling his rifle bit by bit as spares it would seem. He also has a Mk1 stock for sale but when you look at the stock the hole for the quick fill is off centre. I'm wondering if the mod' went a bit wrong and he's selling as the rifle was a write off ??

I messaged him a couple of times but it seems he took offence and asked me politely not to message him again 😳😳😳

I wonder if he's on here reading this 😁😁😁

A block like that came up some time back and the quick fill fell out while charging.
I'm sure kevg will remember that one.

A popular mod for the old MK I over on our side of the pond!!
Milling the block up MK II specs....
This includes Pre-chamber enlarging and Mark 4 Trigger milling!!!
If done correctly, there is no safety issues!!!
Any competent Machinist/gunsmith can do this.

a couple you years ago someone sent me a block they had bought from ebay.it was a full block apart from reg and barrel.on building it up and fitting a bottle the bottom plug blew out.with luck it was pointing away from me.could have been much worse.

if yes where would one obtain such an adaptor?

Really glad I found this. Saw the block myself and was considering a bid. Not now. Thanks Ken.
