Title: Buddy bottle valve stem
Post by: Tipi on April 28, 2026, 08:04:51 AM
Hello All,

I'm in need of some help with a leaking mk1 bottle. It's the 400.

I ordered a stem replacement kit from best fittings but turns out they only fit their own valve heads.

Anyone know where I can buy a new stem? I read in another post kevg can turn them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Keg can make them for you, possible that there is some dust or other crud on the sealing face of the valve.
Might get away with a clean and polish

Will give it a polish and  see what happens. Did melt it a bit trying to get off the valve though.  ::)

Clean and polish didn't do anything sadly.
But added a small o ring and that's fixed it.
Does initially leak air as you screw it on, but seems fine when tightened.
When I have brought posts I'll message KevG.
Seems a shame to buy a whole new valve when one small bit would fix it.
