Hi Fellas i been trying to make a shroud i am no expert with machining but i am trying i managed to do the 1/2" UNF Internal thread with a Tap its the out side thread i need doing for the Silencer to screw on can any one help cheers ATB ;)
Well to do an external thread you need to....
1. 1/2" UNF Die ( not a tap(internal thread)
2. Find someone with a Lathe that can do single point threading!(Best Option)

There you go... if Came with a gear switch setup..you are Ready to Start Cutting some Threads..
On your lathe,or in the manual..there should be a chart giving your which gears in what location
is needed for the thread pitch you want!!
Good Luck!
Stuart
The issue might now be holding that in the jaws ???
You may have to make another & thread it, before you mill away the flats. ???
There is plenty there to grip on to.....
Just shoulder up to that ring...
also don't take Huge cuts!
Just take your time... It will come out just fine...

If you're unsure, take it to Dave at Staffs Custom Rifles. He won't rip you off.

That's the bottle pip. Dr Bob sells upgraded ones, go onto his website and ring him. If you can't fit it, bring it to me in Crewe. Get the barrel to Dave at SCR, he does a brilliant job.
Cheers Buddy ;)
On that bottle pip it probably only needs the lightest skim on that front step to square it off for a new sealing face.
