Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, speaks at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in Banqueting House, Whitehall, London. In his address, Sir Richard said "our objective must be to avoid war", but made clear that the "risk to NATO and to the UK from Russia is growing", with forecasts of war between Russia and NATO as early as 2027.

Unfortunately, most of our children will not be fit to fight, mentally or physically.
