Title: What I use for Campfire Cooking.
Post by: Kernal on August 18, 2025, 04:26:42 PM
So normally when i go out cooking in the woods Marley Dog is with me so in the next few weeks i`m going to go into the place where Marley and me cooked sausage in the woods and do it again or try too do it again with out him....If i was honest it`s gonna be a Biggy for me this as I've always had Marley by my side when cooking in the woods.

He used to love his sausage and steak cooked on a open fire with me by his side.

anyway I've ordered about 4 outdoor grills to test out and see how it goes and I'll be testing these grill`s out in our spot where we both used to go so this will be interesting to see how i get on!

The video below show`s you what I've bought to cook in to woods but this time without Marley!

If I'm honest it`ll be hard trying to do this....... but i feel i need too do this so lets at lest give it a try see what happens!

Ov I'll post the event as it happens so you all can see how it all goes!

Well today i went out with my grill that i bought on eBay and it burned all my sausages i was gutted, I just wished I'd have took my phone to take detailed pictures of the event.

Personally i think the grill`s are way to close to the fire or embers and it`s just one big hassle keep turning the sausage and moving them about over the embers or fire.

Plus another thing i seen was the sausage didn`t seem to be made like they used to be way back in my time with oils dripping as they cooks,....These sausage seems to be dry and cooked horrible for some reason.

I think they are changing the recipe or maybe making cut backs on meat but something didn`t seem right.

Anyway that being said i cannot see me going cooking in the woods for sometime as it didn`t seem the same as it was before without Marley Dog being with me so i think that`s a day gone by!

 :)

So would i recommend buying one of those grill`s i listed above the answer to that is NO

Just cook as you would in the woods using sausage on large sticks to keep them well away from the fire and enjoy the time out.
